in the train from milan to venice!

first of all, sorry for late update. recently i`m busy with other things. so yeah, let`s continue my journey in italy. as i`ve told before, after milan, all 4 of us boarded a train to VENICE! 3 hours trip by train didn`t bother me that much since the seat was comfortable and the ride wasn`t bumpy, credits to trenitalia :) i spent most of the time playing games and hearing to music and others well... sleeping of course, heheh. we managed to have a meal of luxurious sandwich made by ourselves :D somehow the bread that we bought back in milan have longer expiry date compared to other bread that you could buy in other grocery store. i glanced for a while and i didn`t believe it at first, as it could lasts for more than a month! hm, maybe this kind of bread should be promoted worldwide since we tend to waste bread due to short expiry date.

gardaland??! (garda means police in dublin)

just about to hop off from the train

ah then finally we arrived in venice... or maybe not!! we thought it was venice station but actually it wasn`t, hahaha. thank god ansar asked one of the officer on duty nearby, so we rushed back to our seat ;D but then we realised that the stop was actually kind of close to our rented house. as soon as we got out from venice train station, we saw a spectacular view. it was some kind of romantic blended with mysterious feeling. but hey, we should get ourselves a good rest after a long ride, hehe.

neatly decorated :)

we took a bus and headed to our rented house, very clean and beautifully decorated despite not having television :P hm, eventhough i couldn`t understand most of the words they said but it`s quite enjoyable to watch television in other country. at least i could use internet in the owner`s house, hehe. my room (shared with ansar) was spacier than other rooms, excellent! the rented house even have a kitchen and other cooking tools. that night, we slept early as tomorrow is going to be a fun journey!

in the bus on the way to venice island
we said that we are going to wake up earlier so that we could spend more time having fun in the island, but for sure it wasn`t as expected, hehehe. i forgot to mention that venice is actually an island. it is really 'city on water' as most of the buildings were built on water and have water access. some buildings could only be accessed by gondola (boat). they have lots of water channels, few canals and lots more of bridges. the scene was the most attractive things that you couldn`t find anywhere else.

beautiful

venice retains its classic look and doesn`t torn by civilization :) i would be pretty upset if all that i saw was tall buildings and technology everywhere. Absolutely loved Venice! if you like ancient architecture and art, you will love this city! As we entered through Piazzale Roma (it`s a central station for buses and taxis) we slowly walked around with a piece of venice`s map in my hand. we headed to San Marco Square as it is the most recommended place for tourist. Along the way, we happened to cross Grand Canal which is the largest canal in venice. i`m amazed with the spectacular scenery! it`s like you are being swallowed by the ancient design :D you could see gondolas here and there, people were busy taking pictures all over the bridge. i didn`t see a reason why a person don`t want to take a picture at that spot, hehe. after that, we walked again..

other bridge, but lots of people taking pics here

When I stepped my right foot into San Marco Square it literally took my breath away. at the piazza, first of all we took a lot of pictures! the background of Basilica San Marco was beautiful and the weather seemed to be on our side. this place also has lots of pigeons that you can feed, and i really mean lots. ansar bought a pack of corns from a guy nearby and we started feeding the birds! truthfully the birds were gluttony (not sure whether they`re really starving or just normally behaving that way) but we were having good time playing with them and of course we took lots and lots of pics! i`m sure this would never happens in malaysia, hehehe. a big flock of birds surrounding you all way round sounds too good to be true. it just happens in venice!

"Aaaaahhhhh!!!!!!"

after done feeding we walked along the coast... few taxi boats and gondolas passed by. we really want to ride one of those but due to tight budget, we prefer to just watch other people riding it, heheh. in venice, there`s no such thing as cars, motorcycles, MPVs, whatsoever. people will either walk or ride gondola since the road is strictly for pedestrians. besides, lots of bridges which is not plane, but kinda curved upward, to allow boats to pass through. we stopped at many shops, buying few postcards and gifts such as key chains, pashminas and bracelets. some of us even tried out the mask which you could only found in venice! i`m pretty sure you guys know that venice held a mass party annually. during that time, people will wear masks most of the time. i don`t know what`s the historical value from it, better do some research! :) occasionally we stopped by at kebab shop (yes kebab shop) located at Madonna road. the kebab was surprisingly delicious! juicy and tender meat completed with unique sauce made us going crazy of it. during our trip in venice, our lunch or dinner had always been kebab, hehehe.

KEBAB!!!

after a tiring day, we headed back home around 8pm. ironically venice also becomes less happening during night, same like dublin. *wonder* at home, we had a nice chat at the kitchen along with having kebab as our dinner (2nd time for that day) before heading to beds. since there`s not much thing to do, we slept early to restore our energy. the next day was pretty much the same with the day before but this time we entered the basilica san marco. sadly, we couldn`t take any pictures despite wonderful artistic value in that building due to respect to the church. the church is still functioning as i saw few people gathered and prayed. mouth must be shutted and stay quiet as much as possible. other than that, it`s practically the same thing we`ve done yesterday.

the next day, we had to hurry up and catch our flight. we woke up around 4am and packed our things. around 5.20 am, we took a bus from our place and switched to another bus in piazzale roma which will take us to the airport. it was kinda sad to leave venice since we had such a wonderful time there. next stop.... ROME!!!
